U.S.Navy Denim Gas Protective Parka BR11703N
In the early 1940s, the U.S. Navy adopted denim material for a pullover parka as a measure against gas attacks. The overall silhouette is loose to facilitate wearing it over other clothing. The loops around the neck with a hood are for attaching gas mask filter containers, and the side straps are for fixing the gas mask hose. The triple-layered placket prevents gas infiltration, and the hood has cords to seal it after wearing the gas mask. This parka was worn with overall trousers, rubber gloves, and rubber overshoes.
