Description
This is the ultimate Winter Parka !!
The Type B-9 is a winter flight jacket manufactured between 1943 and 1944. Its predecessor, the Type B-7 made of sheepskin, was replaced by the B-9 due to increased troop numbers and the urgent need for a more producible jacket during WWII. With difficulties in securing sheepskin, considerations of cost, productivity, and weight led to the development of the B-9. The outer shell is made of cotton twill, with a quilted lining filled with lightweight and highly insulating down. The interior lining is made of rayon for better mobility. The jacket’s design retains the basic appearance of the B-7, featuring a zipper and button closure at the front, a rubber waistband at the back, and ribbed cuffs to prevent wind intrusion.
The hood is designed for both warmth and practicality. It features a fixed, non-removable design with a drawstring for easy adjustment. The interior is lined with soft sheep fur, and the edges are also trimmed with sheep fur, offering extra warmth when worn. For added cold protection, a throat latch on the left side can be fastened to three buttons on the right, allowing for three different adjustment levels to keep your neck comfortably warm. When not in use, the throat latch can be neatly secured to a button near the top of the hood. Additionally, the hood comes with a buckle strap adjuster, enabling you to easily modify its height to ensure clear visibility in all conditions.
