Description
Black version of M-65 parka. The shell fabric is the same cotton/nylon fabric as the original O.D. jacket. It is an excellent lightweight yet durable material. The loose silhouette is ideal for today’s town use.
The M- 65 parka is the successor model of the M-51 parka. Although it is sometimes confused with the M-65 field jacket, they are entirely different. While the M-51 parka had thick satin outer material, the M-65 parka adopted the light and durable cottonnylon oxford weave. Its advantage was that it dried fast even if it became wet from activities in wetlands. Also, the M-51 parka had a hood that was attached to the body, while the M-65 parka has a detachable hood. Like the M-51 parka, the M-65 parka has also a big slit, known as “fishtail” on lower back. The slit enables the drawstring from the hems on the front and back to be tied beneath the thigh to trap warm air.
